C02 Chocolate Racer Prototype

by Dean Gibson

on Display at Goldbergs Coffee House

C02 Chocolate Racer was an idea to engage with school students in patisserie and confectionary by building a race capable chocolate C02 car and set a world chocolate land speed record.

The car is 100% made from Belgium 70% couverture, the form was made from a vacuum formed model of a VW Beetle however it has been heavily modified for speed, stability and ability to withstand the force of the two C02 canisters used for cream guns to propel the car.

The design of C02 Racer enables the shell of the car to be removed and the chassis and roll cage are raced. Chocolate Racer took 60 hours to build from concept and is the only chocolate workable hand crafted car on earth.

To store long term Chocolate Racer should be stored away from direct sunlight and in a steady temperature range of 20-24c in its case.

If you or your company want to sponsor a world chocolate land speed record our team Skills for Trades would be able to build, test and present C02 Chocolate Racer at your event or in our new space Skills Collider, contact Dean.

You can see Dean talk about the inspiration and process for his work in the following short video!
